THE WAIT
Inspired by Atelier Aveus’s furniture collection emoting visual codes for waiting, this fashion series follows a young woman displaced in a surreal waiting room in the midst of travel. Here, the wait is depicted as a metaphor for an “introspective” state, revealing tension that occurs between patience and impatience, calm and frenzy. In this room, she is alone and begins to feel the mania of “contemplation, passivity and the distortion of time.” As she submits further to this condition, she embraces her growing fervor, no longer sitting tight or holding back, embracing restraint, becoming free to embody a pure, primitive self. As the story progresses, the waiting room melds into a dressing room, a sanctuary where a woman is safe to unravel and come undone.
