THE WAIT

Inspired by Atelier Aveus’s furniture collection emoting visual codes for waiting, this fashion series follows a young woman displaced in a surreal waiting room in the midst of travel. Here, the wait is depicted as a metaphor for an “introspective” state‭, revealing ‬tension that occurs between patience and impatience‭, ‬calm and frenzy‭. ‬In this room‭, ‬she is alone and begins to feel the mania of “contemplation‭, ‬passivity and the distortion of time‭.” ‬As she submits further to this condition‭, ‬she embraces her growing fervor, no longer sitting tight or holding back‭, embracing restraint, becoming free to embody a pure, primitive self‭. ‬As the story progresses‭, ‬the waiting room melds into a dressing room‭, ‬a sanctuary where a woman‭ is safe to ‬unravel and come undone‭. ‬
